ABOUT MIKKEY DEE
A drummer since the age of 5, Mikkey Dee was playing in bands by the time he was 7. The musical career that followed is one of legend.
From King Diamond to Dokken to more than 2 decades with Motorhead, Mikkey Dee has performed to audiences in all parts of the world, recorded with some of music’s finest players, and held an extraordinary standard of musicianship behind his drums that has influenced generations. This extraordinary past has led to the remarkable present. In 2016, Mikkey began playing with one of the world’s biggest bands, Scorpions. He is now a permanent member, as the band plays to sold out audiences around the globe.
A drumming legend. A new medium in art.
Mikkey Dee goes from drumkit to canvas with the release of ”Subliminal.” A career first, each piece in the collection is built from rhythm. To construct the visuals, Mikkey utilized drumsticks that light, much like a painter would use oils. An extensive process from start to finish, the visuals are literally rhythm captured onto canvas in a vibrant, abstract and powerful new dimension in fine art. Each canvas in the collection is available in highly limited edition sizes, and all are numbered and individually signed by Mikkey Dee.
ABOUT MARIE PLOSJO
The art of Marie Helene Plosjö echoes the rhythms of life, her world is filled with passion and exuberant color, spreading an intensely personal symbolism, she is a singular talent. As an artist Marie has had many international exhibitions and is in collections throughout the world.
One of the main elements of Marie’s artistic process is the intense analysis of her subjects, as well as extensive explorations of technique, colors, shades and compositional foundations. Marie’s research of the modern painting of the 20th century reinforces her own work. She is an artist seeking to capture and refine emotional gesture with her portraiture, including complex studies of the vivacity of human character.
Marie paints in several differing inventive styles: Incorporating the constructive color planes of Cezanne, for instance, Gauguin’s Cloissonism or the pure, bright colors of van Gogh. In her work this is best seen in her treatment of color and shapes portraying spontaneous visual narratives. It is this blending of diverse radical styles, techniques and methods of painting, adopted by this highly recognized artist, that, along with her intensely personal symbolism, developed this singular talent.
